Ach Gottchen! Hat jemand schon mal die Daten der Veröffentlichungen von anderen Flugzeugunfällen angeschaut? Die Verschwörungstheoretiker jedenfalls nicht und Trollen ist es eh egal.

The AAIB has issued another interim report into the incident involving a 777 at Heathrow last month.

The report pretty much confirms the findings which the AAIB published a week after the event, that although all measureable systems seemed to be working properly, and although both the crew and the autothrottles made the correct inputs, the engines settled into 'an engine speed above flight idle, but less than the commanded thrust' for the last few moments of the flight.

The new report does contain more detail about the flight, including an analysis of some of the low temperatures to which it was subjected; however, there is no indication that these temperatures were below recommended for the fuel being used.

There is also more detail about the final minutes of the flight. The first officer took over, as briefed, at 780 ft (it's not clear whether that is agl or not); at 720 ft, after an autothrottle command to which it responded correctly, the right engine reduced its thrust followed seven seconds later by the left engine. They failed to respond to further commands. The airspeed now reduced 'as the autopilot attempted to maintain the ILS glideslope and by 200 ft the airspeed had reduced to about 108 kt. The autopilot disconnected at approximately 175 ft, the aircraft descended rapidly and its landing gear made contact with the ground some 1,000 ft short of the paved runway surface.'

In the report there follows a list of parts of the aircraft which the AAIB examined and found to be working. However, it's the fuel system which comes in for the main scrutiny. Most remarkable are the list of items found in the fuel tanks:
1) Right main tank - a red plastic sealant scraper approximately 10 cm x 3 cm under the suction inlet screen
2) Left main tank, water scavenge inlet - a piece of black plastic tape, approx 5 cm square; a piece of brown paper of the same size and shape, and a yellow piece of plastic
3) Right centre tank override pump - a small piece of fabric of paper found in the guillotine valve of the pump housing;
4) Left centre water scavenge jet pump - small circular disc, 6mm in diameter, in the motive flow chamber.
'The relevance of this debris is still being delivered', says the AAIB.

There is no evidence that any water was found in the tanks.

The report ends with a safety recommendation which arises from some of the points discovered during the investigation (regarding the order of operation of the fuel control shut-off/fire handles), but the investigation is still on-going, and no conclusions have been[/quote]
