i believe i don´t say too much if i declare the development of the german aviation industry after ww ii a deploreable, amtomised and uncoordinated, and uncompetitive development.
to just mention the development of VTOL by dornier, the do31 which is a most attractive demonstrator model in the deutsches museum in MUC, all patents were sold to some us company in the end. millions and millions of tax payers´money went down the american way...
how surprised have i been visiting bremen airport two years ago, when i found a sidestick box exposed in the museum alongside the VFW614, that had been developed then for exactly that crazy executive aircraft. if i am not mistaken, that sidestick is the steering "joy stick" of choice for all airbus models to date. wonderful!

why i say this is because i strongly insist on supporting and strengthening the inventive power of german engineers, and especially so in all matters aviation and space technology.
insofar i am again surprised to learn of the pressure daimler is putting on the government to reduce the or to get rid of its share in EADS. a hitec concern cannot see being close to building aircraft as its core interest? sounds strange to me, anyway. they have done something similar and even more ridiculous before under the rule of a ceo whose name i don´t want to mention here because he remains known as the most successful destroyer of corporate value in history. then they even found a specialist engine developer and manufacturer outside of their core interest. they paid dearly for if when they bought back their share in what is called tognum now. and now they have to get along with a partner, roll royce, where they once were ruling alone.
well, anyway, sounds like history of german industry.

excuse my lengthy excursion.
