The Next Generation Honeywell was selected by Airbus as the sole supplier of a revolutionary new Flight Management System design for the A380 aircraft. Incorporating many graphical flight plan elements, pilots are able to efficiently edit flight plans directly from the map display using a cursor control device.
Using familiar windowing type operations like pull down menus, context sensitive selection, and visual reference, FMS operation has been simplified and pilot workload reduced.
This new approach sets the standard for all future pilot interactions, allowing more graphical manipulation and less keystroke-intensive typing. This new interface, coupled with the new features like vertical situation display and full predictions for all flight plans, vastly simplifies operation in the ever increasing airspace requirement changes.
Advanced Features:
Graphical Interface
Vertical Situation Display
Full FANS capability
Reduced RNP levels down to RNP 0.1
GLS/MLS Precision approach

Automatic Reconfiguration of Failed FM
-Standby FM automatically replaces failed FM
-If failed FM recovers, then it becomes Standby
-Four basic FM modes of operation will exist: Dual, Independent, Single, Standby

Danke
