In China ist ein Airbus A319 in der Startphase verunglückt und hat Feuer gefangen. Die Insassen seien rechtzeitig evakuiert worden, hieß es im chinesischen Staatsfernsehen. Nach ersten unbestätigten Berichten sollen 113 Passagiere an Bord gewesen sein. Es habe demnach nur Leichtverletzte gegeben
Bei der Maschine handelt es sich um den Airbus A319 B-6425, der im November 2012 werksneu an Tibet Airlines ausgeliefert wurde. Tibet Airlines in Chongqing teilte auf Anfrage nur mit, dass der Vorfall aktuell untersucht werde.
Laut Augenzeugen hatte die Maschine ihren Startlauf aus hoher Geschwindigkeit abgebrochen und ist dabei von der Piste abgekommen. Beide Triebwerke rissen dabei vom Flugzeug ab.
